Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Most companies have record profits

Yet they do massive layoffs. What may be the reason? Let me think here for a moment. Companies just being a cash cow for the few? Leadership never suffering consequences for bad decisions, but getting increases in bonuses regardless of the performance? Money must come from somewhere. Nobody caring about the long-term future of the company? When a cow drops dead, there is always another to move onto. It’s greed, and greed knows no boundaries. When business is bad, layoffs ensue. When business is good, layoffs ensue. Last on the list of importance, somewhere below the office supplies, are those who actually create value and bring in the profits - us. USB is certainly on trend.

How soon we forget 2008. Market collapse with government bailouts and golden parachutes. USB employees had to take pay cuts. Many of you probably remember the Occupy Wall Street movement. Most people I worked with at the bank thought they were a bunch of low life, lazy, good for nothings. I talked with some of these young people. Many of them were students or had taken leave of their jobs to join this movement. What did they get in return? They were laughed at and scorned by the same people that are now talking about corporate greed like it’s new revelation. Big corporations have gotten away with greed forever. Sure, anyone still lucky to have a job were scared they would lose it and didn’t speak out, but most wouldn’t even privately defend it. As the years passed no one cared anymore and look where we are. Same greed and corruption.
