Everybody says to just collect a paycheck and not be bothered. But work here consumes our lives while it’s so hollow and exploitative. After all the stress, anxiety, frustration, battling the toxicity, which all holds on to you long after you leave the office, you can barely relax even during the weekends. And the job itself is not particularly joyful either. I'm on the insurance side, so you can imagine the kind of decisions one must make under the pressure of mgmt. No paycheck can outbalance the misery of working here.

Yesss! I am the one impacted by the layoff. I choose to take it positively, and I believe I can find a better job for my mental health
Just by saying “I'm on the insurance side” points to how broken we’ve become. We’re an insurance company, we should all be on the insurance side. But we’ve moved into areas we don’t have the clout and expertise in, and it’s draining our soul and enthusiasm. I’m at the point where I’m looking forward to my RIF; it’ll force me to move in a better direction.
💯agree. I have never seen an employer as toxic as EH has become. I started here joyfully in 2016, but the attempts to make up lost ground from Covid turned the tide. 2022, 2023 and 2024 is the absolute worst. Sunday scariest are a way of life
