Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Digital town hall model E

Lots of "we should" comments from all leaders. Not one of them took any responsibility for the current mess.

"Is FNV4 scrapped now?" Does anyone with any scope of awareness on anything related to it think that it isn't? Continuing down that route would be such a disaster, I don't see how it isn't. But whatever....

When the working levels do not follow the directives that Ford leadership cascades, situations that are less than optimal for the company are the result. It is disingenuous to blame Ford leaders.

It’s frustrating when leaders point fingers instead of taking accountability. This article dives deeper into the broader context behind leadership decisions and how they impact the Ford-UAW negotiations. If you want to understand what’s fueling the tension and whether Ford workers will join the looming mega-strike, this is a must-read. Check it out and get the full story here: Will Ford Workers Join the UAW’s Potential Mega Strike?. Don’t miss out—stay informed and see how this could affect the future of labor movements!

If it is going to be scraped, then a bunch of people (selected by rock paper scissor) will be kicked out. This will include some who genuinely deserve it but unfortunately some good experts too. And the knowledges, mistakes, learnings will be lost.
Then in the next iteration, they will hire another bunch of engineers for the next gen design, they will go through the same mistake, same learnings again, same quality struggle and the cycle of poor quality continues.
Ford will always have quality issue if they keep doing this over and over.
Gradual improvement on a product requires knowledge of goods and bads of the existing ones and then work on the bads.
I don't see how throwing current people out and bringing in new heads helps quality.

I knew FNV4 was doomed right from the start. The vehicle engineers wanted to use unshielded Ethernet cable in the vehicle to save weight and money! We immediately told them that unshielded would essentially mean that the vehicle's network would be so slow it would become unusable.

So it wasn't just software engineers that were the problem here. Ford has laid off or driven away all the employees that had a brain. What's left are the overpaid FnF that couldn't deliver if you gave it to them!

Our engineering teams should be driving for Uber, not designing next Gen vehicles.

@2ylb+1v3lE5mB. FNV4 would be on schedule and functioning if we didn't have DF's "leadership."

Be rest assured DF has a solid plan for Model e. Don't be discouraged by posts made in this forum.

Regarding FNV4, first it was delayed, then program was scrapped and now it is again delayed! I doubt F continues to fund it if it is so far behind schedule.

Jesus Christ this company can't make anymore these days. All these California execs are just clueless losers milking whatever is left of the company. They forced all the OGs to retire now stuck with blood su-king vermons who only promise but never deliver.

"Is FNV4 scrapped now?"

This is the only question of substance that really matters here. All the rest is useless noise.

If course it's the low level employees who can't live up the leadership's brilliant vision.

I'm so disappointed in myself 😂

Ford leadership has been saying "We should have" for many years. That is why we are always behind our competitors by 5 years.

We wouldn’t be in this situation if the SW developers would do their job. They are just sitting at home tugging it. The only web site they are visiting has hub in the name but doesn’t start with git.
