Chevron to Spend $66 Million on Office Renovation at 1500 Louisiana Per Houston Business Journal Article Today

Well, gotta get those fancy execs some fancy offices, yep. And, just before we start laying off a whole bunch of people to save some money. Those to be let go will remember they were laid off to plush up the space for the execs. Love how they are disguising this as a broader office modernization when in reality the 9 floors they are updating is all part of the plan to conceal the core reason - the high dollar execs office upgrades. Yep, loving me this company……….bunch a losers at the top……..

Does that include a helicopter pad on top of the building so they can quickly get to the jet to fly back home to the Bay Area every weekend?

Do you all really thing Lakeside was built out for CVX? Wondering the halls, take a good look around...this space was designed for the NEXT tenants from the get-go.

It seems relatively modest compared to ABU's building. The annual operating expenses alone would approach a similar figure.

Chevron to Spend $66 Million on Office Renovation at 1500 Louisiana

Anybody wanna hazard a guess as to the cost for Lakeside and move out of CHVPK? How do we justify that kind of spend when only two months after moving into Lakeside, corp announced move to Hou? 🙄

If they are anything like the exec offices in SR Bldg A they will be fairly plush including bullet proof windows, bar, dining area, etc. Sort of like a country club, really. There will be some very fancy meeting spaces for hosting the likes of foreign dignitaries, republican politicians, African energy ministers, etc.

Houston renovation is temporary. After they move the ones tapped to work in new HQ building from other leased offices in Houston and San Ramon there will be a plan to continue to move certain functions (ie Finance, HR, SCM, Engineers…) to other countries to the centers. They will continue to do this over the next 10 years. Once they have the upper management, admins and lawyers left to justify the need for HQ address they will lease out the space to other companies. Unfortunately, the glory days are gone.It is the people (aka Human Energy) which have made Chevron successful. They need to remember that before they cut the talent who have survived several layoffs. Huge risk and very disrespectful.

Do you think they may do these improvements so as to sell the buildings and move us all to the woodlands?

“ Elsewhere, Chevron purchased 77 acres of land in The Woodlands-based Howard Hughes Corp.’s (NYSE: HHH) Bridgeland master-planned community near Cypress last year. The company plans to develop a new research and development campus there, but specific details about the campus and a construction timeline were not disclosed.”

Special parking will be created in the bay at ground level - special elevator up. The elite will not be servant leaders to the rank and file, and certainly will not be inconvenienced by them……

Can’t wait for an elevator to be dedicated to the top echelon. Like it isn’t hard enough to get an elevator at certain hours.

I doubt MW will take the 82 bus from River Oaks.

Did you think MW or MN would be happy sitting in a cubicle? They have all those important decisions to make. There will be an entire floor devoted to these clowns. You won't have access to that floor. Your badge won't work on that floor. If you be chance get on that floor, you will be confronted immediately then escorted off the floor. Any fuss and security will be called.

Once it’s done you know they’ll force everyone back to full time in office. They won’t pay that much to not have everyone “enjoying” the garbage new open workspace and working at a dining table.

I suspect it also may be to dress it up so they can consolidate and lease out some floors to other companies

The Houston Modernization Project was publicized in the Spring knowing full well the plebes had to be moved to less space via open spaces or laid off to support the influx of execs.
