Say what you want, but he deserves credit and respect for that.
Seems that at the end of the day, his heart is in the right place.

lol-- he was the classic corporate shark: always moving his career forward and leaving a wake of sh--e that everyone else had to deal with, until he retired and went off in retirement having made a boat load of money and ruining several claims depts. He was the emperor with no clothes. He got hired at safeco ins and had "last best offer" philosophy that drove expenses and losses through the roof, went to liberty commercial markets and re purposed the same cr-p as "one focus" then bamboozled allstate to hire him. He caused 2 fortune 100 carriers that should have known better to have to adjust reserves to the tune of over several hundred million. He is ultimately not to blame---blame lies with all the alleged smart execs at those carriers that should have known better than to listen to a snake oil salesman
He left over two years ago after ruining the claims department.
He forgot to take with him the biggest mutt of all, the one he bragged about poaching from his prior employer. Her paws are still causing messes that will take years to fix.
Who?
Glenn was late to the raise the rate cycle, hoping that the auto CPI was transitory, similar to the Fed's Jay Powell. He was wrong, the combined ratio spiked, and he was fired. Rizzo has done nothing miraculous other than take the rates that Wilson/Glenn did not. To Shapiro's credit, he certainly drove the expense ratio down, and likely influenced the strategy to broaden distribution in a more meaningful way beyond simply EA's. With stock at $195, it looks like everybody has done fine.
Some of you have a weird obsession with Shapiro. Just stop.
Give me a break. Shapiro was a big help in the ruination of Allstate. He’s a megalomaniac.
