Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Finance Town Hall

Majority of the function will be moving to BA or Manilla. Tone deaf leaders went on for twenty minutes (to a crowd of soon to be sacked finance people) about how this is actually an exciting opportunity to save the company some money.

Future CEO EB says they are looking at a full 9/80 back in the office. The fact they even brought it up basically confirms it's happening.

My favorite part is when they told finance people to start asking their friends in other functions how to do non finance jobs as a way of "growing their careers"

What happened to treasury? And what was the process? Are they having to compete for the remaining positions? I'm hearing that Tax is next (oh boy!) nothing like outsourcing tax!

Anyone hear about the beating Treasury took a couple weeks ago? Nearly 50% + reduction planned through end of 2025. NM is nothing short of EB AND MN.

The bean counters are spilling the beans, but the Aloo mutter is a little too spicey for them to play nicely.

Her former advisor used to tell us how bad EB was... and that she was only good at memorizing speeches and delivering them. I guess now she is not doing that very well either... God help us if she is the next ceo

Any differences between the morning and evening town halls?

EB came across like an amateur MBA student doing a class project in that TH. She’s way in over her head with this role.

Everyone attacks IT and wants it outsourced. They are coming for you now too. Us in IT loved all the support from everyone as we get picked on. Guess all the other functions get to have jobs sent to India now.

MN is the one checking attendance person by person. I am very happy cvx rewards him well for this important task

Only a matter of time before EB is deemed unfit as CFO, you can only sp-t out so much drivel before wall street catches on

Sounds like some groups that have never been offshored are finally having the axe man cometh. For some finance people we have been dealing with this for the last 15 years some maybe even more with Manila. Ya got to feed the beast it’s never enough they always come back for more. Not sure what will be left besides upper management and Hi Pots oh and some lawyers I guess. Will there be an official program announced or just a wholesale sla-ghter of certain teams. I wonder if most impact will be SR or Houston.

The only mystery is what clever name they’ll conjure up for the offshoring and layoffs…. Any guesses??

How about this?

F inance
U nbelievable
C allousness
K ills
E mployee

When they say "finance's unwavering commitment to our people" they didn't mean THESE people

Expect half of the SR jobs to move to FSS, and half to Houston… and then for those who refuse to move to Houston, the jobs will not be backfilled.

Those who move to Houston will simply be expected to do more with less.

Has anyone heard anything about the schedule and total impact? EB and the other FLT on the call made it sound like it was beginning of 2025 and that there would be few roles not impacted - presumably the FLT still gets to keep their jobs, but are there even going to be any PSG 24 and below roles left in the US?

Suggested name for offshoring program: CHOP. Chevron Headcount Optimization Program.

100% tone deaf. EB definitely confirmed that “someone” is looking at office attendance, and that the best way to ensure no change is to “stick to the current arrangement”. Finance will be nothing but 25+ individual contributors. I’m sure lots of the CA crew will jump ship as soon as the CIP payout posts. I would too

BA and Manila are both cool places to live so some great opposites for those willing to move.

So committed to transparency that they won't publish the recording. You missed the part where they wouldn't deny that Finance PDCs are going away. "We'll keep you updated" of course you will.

If people don't wake up and push their elected officials to fight this kind of garbage with legislation all professional jobs at all companies will be in India in the near future. It's the end of the middle class. Contact your representative and senators about all this. Might not help but we need to try.

Ha! True, and how genius to place an Indian at the helm of a dept. outsourcing to India! Makes you wonder who they’ll promote to CFO after EB is done axing the team; definitely a DEI candidate to absorb the blame… RG, OO?

Not surprised, anyone in the know can confirm ENGINE was EB’s brainchild and she was tactfully whisked away from CTC before its implementation. No doubt she has similar plans for Finance.
