My suggestion is don't get too comfortable with the false assumption that you are now safe. This was just one of the many waves that will come. Sooner or later your name will come up. Until that inevitable end arrives, the best thing you can do for yourself is to acquire new skills while Intel is still paying for your bills. Allocate time to look for new opportunities outside. Schedule interviews and sharpen your skills in job hunting. Try to leave Intel at a position of power rather than because you are told to. I can assure you when you do that, your managers will make offers you couldn't have imagined to keep you. If you are a PE, they will try to promote you to Senior PE just like that. You will then realize the extent of illusion we have been led to believe called "career progression" at Intel.
