Did everyone get their invite for meet and greet? Looks like they scheduled the list of the names in alphabetical order. Some of our roles changed but never updated by CBU HR or Managers in the Workday system, so probably will cause some confusion or disadvantage...anyway, best of luck to everyone next week.

Huh?
Plot twist, CBU is acquiring another asset in Canada
I got an invitation for one on one with someone with CNRL email. Nothing from HR or My Boss. No Agenda.... Just one line "One on One Check In" .... Not a good start
Anyone got an invite for a meet and greet yet?
So think they will show the new org chart at this Thursdays town hall? Why have it offsite if they’re also allowing teams?
Mid November for the org chart is such BS. They would have known AOSP was on the table for a few months now so the excuse of not having the org chart ready because of that seems weak.
Pending how much different the total comp is for CNRL offers there might be cases of constructive dismissal. Have to think hard if you want to get shipped over to CNRL and get ground down and then quit (which they want) or try for severance and not sign the offers.
They’ve been clear the whole time Chevron Canada will still exist. Time will tell what positions they are keeping in the support organization in all those functions. I’ve heard mid Nov they should announce the new Cbu org chart. I would guess the guidance they’re following is maximize the use of shared services and outsourcing as much as possible rather than keep Canadian employees. So far though I know they are keeping people in the dark on whether or not they will have positions, or if they will be put on “the list” to receive offers from CNRL.
Will Chevron Canada exist as a legal entity Corporation or they will just shut it down completely?
Will Finance, HR, Corporate affairs, Legal and Supply chain join CNRL or not?
I heard they’re selling off the duvernay anyways. They basically got it for free. I can see the JV partner agreeing to it as parceling it out is a way for them to cash out on the $1.5B they invested for 30% of the project a decade ago. Sure they may give people jobs, but they will be sh-t jobs if you’re office based that you’ll quit with no severance in the future when you can’t take it anymore and they’re betting on that. Because of the JV they have an obligation to operate for a short time to “deliver the 2025 business plan”, but after that who knows!
The same was said about Parkland in BC. They ended up being a great operator.
The only issue that I see with CNRL is they will actually make people work and know what they do to get a pay checque. CBU was all family and friends with no one really doing any meaningful work (except very very very few)
But they said in the townhall they are NOT a sweatshop, so everyone should trust that and not their long standing reputation in the industry.
From what I understand CNRL is a sweatshop. My guess is they’ll take everyone and then rank and yank next fall in layoffs.
You say that now but wait until you have to work for CNRL betting you won’t think it would be that good
Will CNRL take everyone in Calgary? So no Layoffs at all?
That would be good to be honest
Who thinks people in HR are going to get shipped to CNRL too? Or will they get severance?
Liard was sold long time ago
Everyone in Calgary office will go to the new buyer
Only remaining staff will be in north east for now but that would be a short term
Are they still keep a corporate representation in Canada? They still have to pay taxes for the East Coast business and they have not sold Liard yet
So
1 who are moving to CNRL?
2 who arw staying for corporate activities?
3 who are going to let go for sure?
My gf works there and she is nervous as he-l. I am trying to avoid to ask her any questions that may trigger even more anxiety 🙃
Last day Dec 6th.
What is the timeline to shut it down completely
Sold. Keeping no one .
Why do you care, everyone in the office will be taken by the new buyer.
No word aye
