Thread regarding Elevance Health (Anthem) layoffs

Rumor about Subsidiary Restructuring?

I cant emphasize enough that this a rumor I heard from one executive. Completely unrelated in a separate incident, another executive implied a similar idea. They hinted that theyre planning on consolidating subsidiaries even further, focusing on expanding functions for employees so that they can reduce head count. This means that RIFs are going to continue until they can consolidate as much as they can. This also means that those who work for the enterprise are generally safer than those who work directly for the subsidiaries.

Just passing this along in case someone can confirm. Again, this is just a rumor...

Seems to me like Carelon is moving everything offshore. With all the layoffs, they’ve been hiring hand over fist for call center reps in the Philippines.

OP: my bad shouldve clarified...i meant like anthem and wellpoint. Carelon is distinct, so it has it's own processes. And then there's those health plan that have a small presence, but there still under contract. It seem like it's for all BUs within those brands

Curious as to what areas within Elevance are considered subsidiaries? Is it state specific? Heard that more jobs are being created in Indy.
