Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Blessing in disguise

You’ll look back at today in 5 years and realize how much further you’ve come, especially if you keep in contact with people that still work at Intel. You’ll probably be making double the $$$, have taken on totally new challenges, established relationships with new and better people. Then you talk to your old Intel friends and hear the same old “ yeah I found a problem with this bit in this register” sh-t as if time is frozen over there

Bumping this from @ddf+1v0lUP2F because he or she is 100% right.

Layoffs leave an indelible mark on one's life. Having gone through the ACT in the past, I have first hand experience. I have recovered since it's been a decade. But I will never forget and forgive Intel for how they did to me and several others. Please find your calling and recover. The big picture of it is you are a cog that's dispensable

Big pat on the back to Pat for hiring more people when we already had too many and now taking credit for the layoff to "Realign our business expenses" Fantastic show of business acumen.

Yea, Great sentiment but the reality is at least for the short term. People are gonna be struggling to pay bills and make ends meet. Some will never recover. This will cause much strife and turmoil within families. Some families will break apart because of this, and you can mark it down as October 15th as the exact date when it all begins unravel for these people. Someone will lose their homes. Good luck and God bless. I wish all luck in the coming days.

Long term this may be true but it is the short term of the next 6 months to a year that will make all of the difference. It is going to be hardest for the people who get forced out but it is still going to be hard for the people who survive. Good luck to everyone.
