In regard to tenure being a bad thing, it's an unfortunate reality for some. Tenure in a stale environment or a bad culture can negatively affect a person's mindset. People can get complacent, feel over-entitled, or shun new ideas. Tenure can also be a good thing for tribal knowledge, deep understanding of company systems, and having deep relationships with peers.
Absolutely. While Senior Leadership will say they value integrity and perspective, what they really meant to say was - you are expected to only repeat the corporate lines you are fed, and continue to execute orders - regardless of ethical concerns. I have felt pushed out by a leader that was possibly intimidated by my experience and their lack of. And while it might sound like I was proud of my years of experience, in the end it was seen as a negative within the organization. It was an impossible situation to navigate and maintain my integrity.
Absolutely have. Lack of respect from team/peers and lack of support from leadership. I’m surprised I’ve lasted this long.
