I hope anyone who reads this understand how RUDE it is to assume you know what I'm going to say and start talking about a solution before I have even explained the problem. You can't hear me when your talking and I can't hear you when I haven't finished my sentence. This seems to be coming from the offshore people that are new at GW. Some (Manager) in your past should have spoken to you about this years ago.

oh boy, better start getting used to it.

don't expect the offshore people to know any better, or to understand proper business etiquette.

you need to understand that their culture is "whomever yells the loudest..."

do not assume that they understand what they are agreeing too when the say "yes"... they say yes all the time, whether they understood or not.

they will talk down on you, they will talk over you, they will be extremely condescending, they think they are better than you simply because to them, you are the foreigner and they are here to tell you "what's what" as if you are stupid. They do not understand the concept of working smart, only of working hard. and I need to translate that, they only understand brute force. if you analyze their behavior from that perspective, it will make sense to you. and again, they just can't help themselves, they were educated that way. they don't know any better and you will not be the one to re-educate them.

you think I'm being too cynical or just plain racist?!?!, just wait and see, don't believe me, believe your own eyes, specially when you are feeling tempted to bang your head against the wall in frustration.

my advice... don't let them walk all over you. Be firm, like super firm. if you behave like you are the boss they will eventually fold... they were raised that way. they are extremely hierarchical. Use that to your advantage!. If you are extremely firm, they will fold on the spot, your just need to be willing to behave like you own the place. It will make them hesitate and retreat, again, they were raised that way. its a cultural thing.

though times ahead people, better prepare yourselves.
do not expect them to understand western values, do not expect communication to be easy. they have a hard time understanding each other because of the multitude of languages. therefore, do not expect them to understand you, specially if you use expressions or cultural references that are common place here, but completely lost on them.

So glad to be gone. Just a lot of noise, 4 talkers to every one doer. Not a recipe for success. Especially when the talkers are incompetent synchophants.
