I was among those RIF'd in early August. I have since applied for 2 internal jobs and did not get any consideration for either. The 2nd was basically the job I got RIF'd from so I asked the hiring manager if CA applicants would be considered. After a back-and-forth thru IMs, she admitted (in writing) that because of salary constraints, they're not hiring from a "high cost labor market like CA." I'll bet that goes for NY, CT, & NJ too. This highly discriminatory especially when they are doing business and have offices in those states. Elevance is just a company of GREED!

@1o this is encouraging. Seems to be the exception tho.
I’m in VA. I was rif’d in August as well. I applied to 8 jobs and got 2 interviews and was rehired before my last day. With a 6% raise for the same title! They do give rif’d folks a recruiter. Mine was amazing and very helpful! I have significant experience in my role though. Maybe I’m the exception.
They lie, they don’t give any special preference to those that are RIF’d. my friend applied several dozen times to different positions in the months following the RIF from last September, and the majority of them ghosted her.
I haven't even gotten the initial screener for any job I've applied to in the past year. Even when I asked if it was targeted first. It's all who you know.
Could be that most departments are offshoring to the Philippines.
Thanks for the info! I also applied to a few internal positions and even though I was qualified I did not get hired. A real raw deal it seems like they wouldn’t want to lose good talent but the oh well. This company is extremely toxic so unless that changes the culture will not change. Just my too cents
Interesting. Thanks for the heads up.
