My manager moved my 1:1 from tomorrow to Thursday 10/17. Is this a coincidence or am I being RIFed?

I was RIFed in August and I got an invite a week in advance. When I got on the meeting there was HR and the manager. They have these things planned well in advance. I also was already on PTO on that Friday. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I am working somewhere I love outside of this industry.
So to the person who started this post....what was the outcome of your meeting? Hopefully it was just a routine 1:1
When my boss set up a random meeting with me back when I got RIFd - I went out and looked at the meeting invite to see if anyone else was on it - and it was my boss and HR - BAM - that's when I knew it was me the next day.
To those that may get RIFd today, please try to remember this is just a temporary setback, this too will pass, better days are ahead. REMEMBER who you are. REMEMBER the work you have done to help this company be as successful as it is today. REMEMBER you did that!!!
So take your knowledge, skills, and talents to your next place of employment and use them there.
We receive 15 minute meetings all the time. I feel like they are trying to normalize these. They are normally team updates.
I recall receiving that meeting invite Wednesday late evening seeing it was 15 min and knew that was it. Good luck to everyone. The grass is greener outside Hellavance
For those who have asked, it's a 30 minute 1:1 on the schedule. I can't help but think they moved it out a day... not necessarily to repurpose the meeting... but to avoid having to make small talk with me today knowing I'm being RIFed tomorrow. Maybe my RIF is coming earlier in the day?
I'd start looking elsewhere NOW.
I wouldn't over think this...it's probably a coincidence. You might be giving your manager too much credit for being clever when in fact they just moved it out due to a scheduling issue.
I just find it hard to believe they would schedule you that far ahead of time. Also how long is the meeting? Most RIF meetings are 15 minutes and people don't see it pop up on their calender until the day of or the night before. Good luck. I hope it's just a normal meeting.
I could tell I was going to be laid off about 6 months before as I switched managers and to a market with no work. New manager never had 1 on 1 with me. The week I got riffd, my regular 1 on 1 was rescheduled 1 day earlier than normal. My new manager would have just blowed of my 1 on 1 as usual if something wasn’t up. So my 1 on 1 was repurposed as my rif meeting. The reschedule was the tell for me.
Unfortunately, that doesn't sound good. When I was laid off in 2023 from Elevance, my manager scheduled an 1-1 on Monday for that Thursday and that's when I got laid off. The good thing is that you will be mentally and emotionally prepared if you do get your pink slip. For me, that was better than being totally surprised when I got the news.
