Can someone explain to me why key holders, not salaried Managers, have the same expectations minus the hours and definitely lower pay?

Best thing to do is do the minimum and go home. And if I were you start looking into going into some other kind of field. Don’t let the the bullies of Belk make you feel like there is no other jobs out there.
Same expectations with no authority. You have to be an awesome leader to motivate your team to work 300% - because if it’s little less you will be hearing from upper management. You can’t fire not performing/ wrong doing associate, can’t even send him home. Can complain to your manager, but it only makes a mess. Not a simple job.
