Shakopee to close

Rumors have been floating, chances 30%, 40%, etc.

We just got an email in SHK THIS WEEK that says "Seagate Real Estate" will attempt to sub-lease the building to other companies starting now. Seagate is going to run a lease/rental business now. So, put the dreams of SHK closure on hold till 2028 folks. It's not going to be any time soon. Too much money to be made by "Air B&B Gate" I guess and if they are subleasing for typical 3-5 years then 2028 would be the earliest closure. Also, perhaps you forgot Luminar is already subleasing from Seagate in SHK. Apparently its now a cash stream for Seagate to help pay the dividend. Getting out of leases and subleases would be a mess anytime soon and disrupt the new cash stream. There, I did your homework for you.

Lease term means nothing. Look at how long the Maxtor building stayed empty in Longmont due to the lease STX accrued when they bought that company. Maybe 14 years..

5 year lease doesn't expire until 2028. About when I'm going to retire early.
