Could just be one employee who makes 100,000,000

It's depressing some people at Fidelity can't do a simple math. Again, 100 Mils of saving divided by 100 K of salary, it's 100,000,000/100,000=1,000 people!

It would be 400 folks who make $250k or 1000 who make 100k.

1000 employees? Try that math again.

At avg salary of 100k you are looking at 10000 employees losing their jobs.

$100 million in savings? That’s what like 1,000 lower level employees? So it would be less for tech. That’s really not that many compared to the size of the company.

I’m going to stop worrying about a layoff. I don’t make that much.

Just put they/them pronouns on your who’s who and you are effectively protected from all layoffs and firings.

At least the other firms have transparency about the upcoming layoffs. Being kept in the dark is worse.

How can anyone know for sure that’s going to tell you here?

Even if you are in a protected class - I’ve seen this happen several times over my career - what they can do is just include you in a layoff the next time they do one. Then it doesn’t matter if you’re over 40 or whatever your protected characteristic as long as the layoff doesn’t discriminate.

My manager used to say that too. It’s not true.

@oes+1uxUGAMp Don't listen to your manager on this topic. I have seen several people get fired. You just have to have a manager with the ba--s to go thru the process. On the other hand if you are in a protected class things are more difficult.

Your manager is symbolic of the stupidity and ignorance in the firm

My manager told me last week that it’s “literally impossible” to get fired from Fidelity. So my assumption is only the people that don’t want to go to the office.

Lots of people self-selecting for termination on Viva Engage
Add on anyone commenting on the situation on public social media
Expensive naturalized citizens
If Harris does not win, anyone that looks or sounds conservative-adjacent
Anyone with unexcused absences from the office
Anyone that did not complete the 3 hour anti-harassment training video by the deadline

As always when the bear is chasing you, you don't have to be the fastest, but you do have to be faster than the guy next to you

Today heard , 100millions cost savings needed in terms of tech , headhunt might be on later this year end if no savings from tech side.
