This is in response to certain voices on this site who believe the people who post here are whining wimps. On the contrary, the people on this site are a large block of sc--wed over corporate America insurance company workers. Allstate leads that pack. Guess what ? Given the treatment of the people, the people will be getting active support to unionize. The CEO and others who have stolen the dignity of the livelihoods of the people are about to see the backlash from the practices and policies they’ve perpetrated on the workers for decades now. The sleeping giant, the people, have awoken. The best part is, they will have support to use their voice this time. Business in America is changing by the minute. The change to come will be good for the American worker finally. Just wanted to give the trolls on here a heads up.

Layoffs will only happen in Pune, this has been confirmed, no stateside employees will be affected and all stateside employees will receive a one time $2500 bonus if they sign a 4 year non-compete contract.
3Q layoffs? I'm shocked. I've never, ever seen that in all the years I've been here!
But wait...didn't we lay off a BUNCH of people last year about this time with the assurance that we'd flattened our organization and so were set up to grow and flourish? And those layoffs were not based on performance but on getting to a certain number and so we canned good people who simply had the misfortune of being near the top of their salary band?
Confirmed by my leader that layoffs won’t begin until the end of September which closes Q3, all employees who will be affected will receive notification at the beginning of October via an email titled “Workplace Changes” and will include a date and time for your virtual meeting and layoff confirmation.
Did your mommy tell you that you are strong? How cute is that? Very special.
They got ya right where they want ya. Allstate gots ya by the ba--s. The whole world would be upside down if a union could get in there. Wait a minute, the world is upside down! Licensed Claim Adjusters Union the LCAU is possible. Stranger things have happened.
What a load of bullsh-t
If NPR is all over this idea, that's a good reason not to do it.
- There are not enough U.S. based employees left to forge a union.
- Big Blue has eliminated most everyone who have tried to unionize. There is zero tolerance for it and leaders are trained to sniff it out and report it so it can be squashed quickly and quietly as possible eliminating those involved. Illegal yes but that is how Allstate operates.
- Office job unions are not the same as actual blue collar labor unions.
I’d love to see an attempt to unionize. It would squashed so fast that you would never know what hit you. If you do unionize you can call it UAW. Yes that name is already taken by the auto workers but at our company you can be known as United Allstate Whiners. Let me give you a hint- it’s not the 1930’s anymore.
A union won't help you. And you'd have to pay ever increasing dues. (Not to mention the possibility of such is slim to none. I know, not what you want to hear...) If you hate Allstate or the corporate world so very much, why not forge a different path, one that feeds your soul? There is nothing holding you back except yourself. I'm not an Allstate cheerleader (far from it) , but I am a proponent of standing on my own two feet and getting on with my life and creating a work-life balance. I hope many do the same. There's a big bad world out there; go after it. There is life during and after Allstate, I promise.
For salary employees, anyone ever heard of a 4.5 day work week? You work 4 days an hour longer each day and take 1/2 day on Friday off.
Allstate is a horrible company. If they did a simple gesture like give a bonus to each employee at Christmas/year end, a union wouldn’t be needed. They only follow the woke and what is trendy. They can’t think of anything innovative to improve morale. They only care about woke ideals because they have to, so they won’t get sued by the woke themselves. It’s the working man’s blues. Keep in mind if the teachers, police, firefighters, nurses, grocery workers, factory workers didn’t have a union those employers would cry and cry about how they have to answer to their shareholders. Unions built this country. You only wish you had one to protect you. TW and crew ain’t gonna protect you or your on USA soil job. Right? The shareholders are wanting the stock to go up so sorry pi-s ants you get no piece of the billionaire pie Brahahahaa
The Company is owned by the shareholders, who expect a return on their investment. It's not a government-owned or non-profit entity that can simply exist for the benefit of its employees and arguably the customer or beneficiaries. Wilson and BOD have missed many opportunities over the years to gain P&C market share, but for a company with flat to declining market share over the last 30 years, it provides a competitive return for investors through the dividend and stock appreciation. Change is necessary, and while unfortunate and uncomfortable, to do nothing or little risks the employment prospects further.
O/T-Any layoffs coming soon for areas in claims?
Sigh Here we go with the Marxist Morality Play again.
If you don't like the company you work for, get off your a-s, enhance your skills, make yourself competitive and quit for greener pastures. Go out and compete.
Nah, that takes effort and grit. Been comfortably complacent for decades so rather just stay stagnant and get some conglomerate to punish my employer for not continuing to indulge me. And anybody who suggests differently must be a bought and paid for company shill.
Such is the state of personal drive, entitlement and critical thinking.
@zgr's odds are wrong. Bet on those odds, and you would probably bet on the Titanic to complete a safe voyage.
GO UNION, USA!!! Do not listen to the negative posts, odds are it's someone trolling from Allstate's social media unit trying to squash the idea.
NPR is all over this idea. Times are swinging toward this idea for a lot companies that never considered unions before. Workers have been asked to do 30-50% more with less. Time to consider unions even though they are bashed. At least it would be some support. Right now we have zero.
Good post until you got to the part about unionize. What a d-mb idea.
