Yes, I was at Cisco before coming here and they are a huge mess bit at least they are honest with formal layoffs and give you a decent severance. If I get a chance, I will go back cause what is happening here is disgusting.
Yeah....Cisco is a blood bath now. But at least Cisco is honest and has formal layoffs.

It's apparent they are in negotiations with a group valued between $3-7b market cap valuation. Yet not wanting to give this group the price they insist upon. So now they are taunting the company via passive aggressive press statements. A la Microsoft during Activision acquisition process, they need to shore up cash and will cut everywhere possible. This is a crossroads for PANW. They refused to do any formal reduction in force. They are running out of Old Sales Guys they can push out (the golden river ones). They can only bully so many to leave on their own. And the law will catch up to them for firing people for false reasons. They can't continue at this pace without failing or being forced to have a public RIF, a la Cisco.

My manager abruptly "...decided to leave the company" within the last month. This was AFTER they were quietly announced to be taking on a new role.
We believe they also knew what managers are being told. They know it's just a matter of time before people are pushed out b)c PANW won't do proper layoffs. So they negotiated a separation agreement. It's epidemic
Those leaders KNOW! They were tasked to manage people out, for manufactured BS phoney "performance" issues since March 2024. When those people didn't leave on their own, they were forced to offer "mutual separation" packages. When that didn't work they were guided by "Employee Relations" to create plans that trap employees to be fired.
LET ME BE CLEAR. Palo Alto needs to layoff and about 650-800 Employees, but they won't because they like to tell Wall Street they are thriving. Therefore, they BULLY* PEOPLE out via popularity contests.
