Positions in the ENGINE have been posted on Chevron Careers website.
The job descriptions are a total joke as it seems HR put no effort in writing them. Lots of formatting and spelling mistakes. Also no specific requirements and very generic job descriptions. This is unbelievable when you are hiring for specialized and highly technical roles like Petrophysicist, Reservoir Modeling Engineer, etc.
Seems that all they are looking to do is get butts in Seat that will have no competency.
A well oiled machine. Firing on all cylinders. Success is inevitable.
Lotta unexpected titles in there that weren’t previously discussed in the open. Strong evidence not to trust mgmt on anything about engine. Mgmt is being guided to provided calm while leadership continues to lie and fumble
@3sji you dipsh-t. I’ve been an expat for many years and reaping those rewards. In my position I am building the national workforce OC in a sh-t country where the nationals are owed the right to become educated in how to manage the natural resources that god has blessed them. And Indian call center is not the same. Engine can go fu-k itself. Anyone with any self respect should try to exit.
Fu--ing he-l. Look at the LinkedIn posts, presentations, pats on the back, etc. educate yourselves chevroids. Grow a pair. Care only about your own selfish paycheck? What are you going to do?
Those moving to India. No spine. No loyalty. Doesn’t matter if you’re working for a paycheck for your family. Wouldn’t trust you to walk my dog. Worthless. Cheap labor is not admirable.
An expat roll in Bangalore would be sweet: huge premium, free housing, car and driver, vacation allowance, private school for kids, etc. and Bangalore is really more like San Jose than Calcutta.
I heard that they already started interviewing just for a few positions for the AI accelerator. You can look on the calendars of a few of the data science and AI leaders to see them. HR is obviously doing some pretty amateur things here because you can actually see all the names of the candidates and everything! Also, it looks like not all roles are posted on the career site because they’re interviewing for data engineers and other AI roles that aren’t listed. Looks like they’re using EY to help hire those roles even though we don’t use EY for any AI and data work in Chevron… makes total sense that we would choose a company that knows nothing about what we do to help us build ENGINE!
You can post to all the jobs you want but you won't get picked. These positions are only for those who actually live at the location or are HiPots or friends of management.
You can post all you like but if you don't live in that location you have got a chance. CVX isn't going to move just anybody overseas. You have to be a HiPot or know someone.
Looks like some of the postings have been updated. The ‘AIA Lead’ is now ‘AI Leader’
It's ok to be disappointed that jobs are being moved overseas and that the job postings are written poorly, WITHOUT being racist...
In 2020, there were job descriptions for different jobs that had only a couple of word differences. CVX has become a joke. They have no standards and no leadership.

Honestly, it is embarrassing that our standards are now so low (practically nonexistent) that we are OK publishing such sloppy — and I do mean SLOPPY — job descriptions.
I joined this company where rarely did something go out with a typo or incorrect grammar. Now I look at these very poorly drafted postings in disbelief that a company that once could claim to have and attract top talent cannot even be bothered ensuring a MINIMUM of accuracy in its communications.
I am glad that I am close to retirement. The guy in the San Ramon Townhall who posted that dumpster fire GIF was 100% right. “Leadership” has been phoning it in for a while around here. Very disappointing.

Production engineering and petrophysics are about as opposite as you can get in the petrotech world. One uses a scalpel while the other smashes everything with a sledgehammer.

What is an “AIA Lead”? I think they mean “AI Lead”. Fortunately the role doesn’t even seem to require any real qualifications beyond experience with AI.
What a joke! They want Indians to know local, state and federal regulations as a required qualification. Maybe you should keep the job in the US then.
Wow, looking at the petrophysics post. Have experience interpreting a few well logs in a few places? Got a MS degree? Great! You're in!!
Nevermind the YEARS and YEARS of experience training required to do a remotely ok job.
Risk Analyst in London would be fun. Anyone with a college degree and a day or two of youtube training can do risk analysis.
