Everybody ready?

For the next round next month? If the rumors are true, there will be another round. How worried is everyone?

I would not be shocked if there was another round of layoffs. CFO just stepped down and moved to another company, a recent ERG member's online status went "unknown" even though she was in office just this past thursday (an ERG leader confirmed her mysterious departure) and today a recruiter of over 15+ years walked into the office saying he was no longer with the company (dont know how he got in). There's something fishy in the air for sure. Cary DisGrace is pushing super hard for on-site, with two days in office it's been highly unnecessary. My team leader has been micromanaging for the past 2 months, there hasnt been any new good locums openings, bill rate is what providers "think" they should get, team is full of work snitches with bad attitudes. I think this next quarter will be an eye opener. New director also has restricted workers from using any of the on-site pods and is pushing super hard for team collaboration and the old school boomer sales environment. Morale is at an all time low. AThis would also be the 4th round of layoff since being with the company pretty brand new. Guess we'll see what this new meeting will be about on Friday....

Since April 2023, AMN's pattern has been every quarter to layoff on average 175 employees. That trend has been steady unfortunately. The company changed and the culture is not positive one to say the least. Be careful what you say in the employee engagement surveys, they are not anonymous. If you haven't left yet, be ready as they continue to offshore pretty much all the jobs. It will backfire on them eventually.

They RIF's have been 2-3 weeks before the end of the fiscal quarters. This week or next would be within the timeframe if they stick to pattern. Return to office for 2 days a week has just been mandated for all within 50-miles of offices. Likely, they want some to quit beforehand to save on severance and will RIF more. At this point, the upper leadership chain has started the company on a downward trend. The leaders that created a better work culture and morale are gone, the lower level leaders are forced to deal with pushback from tired employees. There is no business point for most of us to be in office. This will not increase productivity, it will not improve the technology, it will not magically make us want to be there. Collaboration is a lame excuse when you can only collaborate with your team through teams. They just want us to quit, higher at lower pay, and offshore whatever jobs they can to Bangladesh.
