OMG Digital Marketing is an absolute train wreck.

Vague assertion. Operational issues? What do you mean.

Definitely if 3/4 of those folks were laid off, the business wouldn't skip a heartbeat.

High probability.

Really needs a flush and reboot.

What would you do differently?

So sad to see more and more people leaving Brand + Comms for greener pastures, but unfortunately I don't see the exodus stopping as people find better gigs outside of AYX.

Indeed, it was only two weeks ago that a fellow mentioned the apparent strengthening relationship between Brand and Comms departments, leading to the unexpected resignation of two employees.

With every departure / quiet layoff, AYX just goes down the tubes a little bit more..... I blame most of this on our former CMO. I've come to the conclusion that Sharmila was far better and more effective than he was.

Never worked for Sharmila, but didn't over 20 people quit because of her behaviour?

Digital Marketing (Demand Gen, Performance) seems eerily calm, considering its notorious bloated structure. What's going on there?

You answered your own question.

Mate, it seems they are blessed with not one, not two, but three demand generation directors, if you can believe it! And, I'm told, two of them are rather... redundant (overpaid), shall we say.

It's all a bit of a kerfuffle, really. And, if I'm being perfectly frank, I'd venture to say that getting rid of them wouldn't send the business into a tailspin.

Someone have a cuppa with JY, and kindly ask her to inform us all that she is currently growing a spine and taking the role of a leader in order to clean up the task she was assigned.

The weekly count the last few months of people resigning has been amazing (and sad to see honestly).

Two more resignations have hit Content and Brand hard - no writers, no designers. It's jarring to see people try to brush it off. Meanwhile, Digital Marketing (Demand Gen, Performance) seems eerily calm, considering its notorious bloated structure. What's going on there?

When KL and CD joined Alteryx, they inherited two feuding employees over Content and SEO. One resigned, and the other was laid off.

One was FORCED to resign due to bullying by CD.

Any word on those 'three CEO candidates'

It was answered on Town Hall call.

Answer: New CEO is not a priority.

There are a lot of retention bonus employees out there (I've heard between 100-150 employees)

100-150 employees? Marketing/Sales [ALL HANDS] barely have 80 people.

There are a lot of retention bonus employees out there (I've heard between 100-150 employees) waiting for Dec 31 to collect that retention bonus, and then they'll be gone in January. And you can imagine they are mostly all top performers. 2025 will be rough.

perpetually aggressive CD

If you've worked with CD, you know she's unpleasant, angry, and combative. Hopefully, they will walk her out.

ok what happened? because i've heard a few things.

CD has been doing everything in Trifacta and wants the same privilege in Alteryx as well. This behavior includes taking people's jobs and interfering in their projects.

Meanwhile, SEO for some reason went to CD instead of KL, who is in charge of content. Note that SEO is focused on creating content rather than Demand Gen. LB was not a content person.

Need more? I think half the company knows already.

“This is not a confirmation of anything.
But who in their right mind believes layoffs will not happen Jan 2025? I think the probability is high.”

As others have said retention is so bad they don’t need to do layoffs.
They are still backfilling positions on many teams from people who are leaving on their own accord.

And January is the worst time to look for a new job.

At the rate current employees have been leaving since June do they need to do anymore layoffs?

KL was submissive and failed to protect her direct report from being bullied by perpetually aggressive CD and LB.
There are logged complaints. HR has them. At least 4 people resigned or were laid off under their management.

ok what happened? because i've heard a few things.

"Alteryx Designer Desktop is being absorbed by Diligent Corporation, and the Cloud platform is going to Appriss."

Are we really supposed to believe the company is being split and sold off like that?

PE wants to know.

They are undoubtedly aware.

Emails, messages, and recorded meetings were sent to the IP/CL whistleblower lines both digitally and via certified mail. By law, they are obligated to review and address these submissions.

Who cares. No new web manager is going to magically sell the product. The web is probably being outsourced, either to an agency in Prague or to Accolite Digital. Since EMEA is now overseeing the Web, it’s not a big deal. After all, it’s just a website, and much of the process can be automated.

Any salesperson can tell you that the Alteryx website does very little to generate leads. Vidyard gets us more.

They're looking for someone to fill a Web spot. Someone is leaving or there are further restructuring efforts within the Marketing department. Web included.

I hope it's not who I suspect.

It's a damn shame they don't ask employees to review their superiors.

And ya, giving two weeks notice to this place is d-mb move. Don't do it.

Layoffs and open requisitions are not correlated. If you are making good money, you’ve got a target on your back. Folks that got canned in June, are seeing their positions available on the job boards. Lame.

Just remind that Alteryx jobs are At-will employment. Don't feel obligated to give 2 weeks' notice after learning of their terminations can occur at any time.

Quit as soon as you find a new job, and they'll let you go quickly too. You don't owe them anything.

Indeed. Alteryx’s reputation has gotten so bad over the past 18 months that other companies are going to question why you are leaving and interviewing. It’s more of a black mark these days than say having worked at a place like IBM or Oracle.

So, have good answers ready for the inevitable questions along these lines.

Sad that it’s come to this, but it is what it is.

I am negotiating with another company at the moment, and they are using the layoffs, lack of Stability and lack of promotion, future layoffs and drops in commission due to the fact all the AE’s have given up as reasons to offer me less. I have heard from
Several other SE’s they are being hit with the same. People are actually laughing at us.

'Unless you have a nest egg and are riding it out, you are out of your fu--ing mind if you are not interviewing. '

I interviewed with one of our competitors and they initiated the conversation by referencing our Glassdoor and Team Blind posts regarding the company culture and working environment.

Be prepared to talk about that.

Unless you have a nest egg and are riding it out, you are out of your fu--ing mind if you are not interviewing. Do it for practice at least.

It doesn't help that the current set of Directors/VPs are lying to such a small number of people left on their teams; they create an illusion of opportunity for growth and promotion. Sickening.

'Not saying it's impossible but that would be weird to hire and running a layoff at the same time?'

The careers page always showed open roles during the layoffs. Everything is possible at Alteryx.

Browse through the LinkedIn profiles of individuals who remain here. A majority of them lack substantial experience in the areas they lead.
