Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

This is the 6th layoff scare since 2000

I just learned about this CPM thing today because my email is so inundated. I think the CPM was offered to everyone. I'm in the US. I just learned from my manager that the ISP will be announced Oct 15-18. Those selected will be fired Nov 15. My group apparently has a targeted head count reduction of 50 out of 250 total, so my chances are 20% I get laid off. My boss thinks he's likely one of them and I'm leaving if he does. I've been through 5 layoff scares in my 24 years at Intel and this would be my 6th. I hate Intel. I'm so sick of this constant uncertainty. I got the VSP in 2016 but didn't take it betting I could last more than the year of salary they offered me, and I lasted 8. I win Intel. If you fire me you can go to he-l. I'll be fine. He-l, since I'm single, I may even just retire early.

OP didn't get the email because OP doesn't even work at Intel.

You all just got trolled.

OP, just say no one talks to you at work. Everyone avoids you. Even if you didn't get the email, people are talking about this. If not in person, via Teams chat, group or 1:1.

If OP is not trolling, it speaks volumes to the lack of awareness inside of the company…

"Because my email is so inundated" = "Because I have been phoning it in"

Wired. I don't work at Intel and know more than OP. This is the reason this company is in dumpster and for good reasons. Wonder why TSMC is doing so well? Because of their people.

You're just now seeing this in your email? LOL, yeah if your boss gets booted you better leave! The next manager probably won't cover your incompetence like this one does.

If you've managed to stay unaware of CPM until now it indicates you don't read e-mails, don't read Circuit, don't attend company or group open forums, don't read industry news and don't talk to anyone. What's your role that doesn't require interactions with anybody?

OP, were you in a managing though people class in 2003? When everyone was sent out to meet as many people as they could you told me how many Intel achievement awards you had and I asked you how many kids you have? I have the same question for you today. People who dedicate their lives to a company make me laugh... losers. Tell me about your life today.

OP, I bet you work in LTD... guess what, if your boss was introducing you to the idea of ISP then you are on the list. Adios amigo... you aren't as important as you thought. Your are already in Portland so being creepy and weird will fit right in.

I think you were in my NEO class... you were trying to intimidate the HR people so you could head right over to D1D t to start work and skip the class. How many names did you drop that day?

A little angry OP? Maybe you should get a life? Intel isn't the real world.

You are clueless if you are just getting wind of this today. It isn't a scare, it is reality. Mo-ons like you who think they are too important to keep up with communications like email are are a big part of the problem. You are too self important to give a sh!t about what is really going on. There is a reason you are single...
