I see postings on those asked to complete their Career Profile. Is the enterprise wide? Asking and curious because our team has not been asked to complete this. Anyone know about this please. Thanks

It originally said required for me but now it just says optional
Was sent to me as mandatory. (I'm not manager or director level, much less higher.)
So that employees who are riffed can be suggested jobs at 20k - 40 k less annually
I'm not director level, and I received the task - required.
Shows the incompetence of management in this company. They can't even get a simple message like completing a task in Workday communicated on a consistent basis. I am hearing/seeing both required and optional messaging for the task. This company has become a complete sh*t show as far as middle management is concerned.
They mentioned in manager forum today that this exercise was sent out to all associates as optional.
I live more than 50 miles from a pulse point. I’ve been flat out told I am not eligible for positions..why bother updating my resume? It’s an exercise to check a box.
I’ve worked here going on 30 years - never once was asked, until now, to update my career and profile info. I know my number is coming up and making them tell me.
Also, those journeys - click, click, continue, next, click, click to complete.
I have learned they really don’t care anymore. Prior manager - did my job plus some of theirs and come eval time just a “3”. Said they had no choice as Director said nobody should be above a “3”. I can only suspect this helps pad their pockets due to budget surplus
All that time away from my family and all that hard work - just a “3”
Time for a plan B y’all. I feel so badly for all of those that were let and will be in the future
The career profile has always been optional. This year is required. There is something behind the reason. Also note, we did not get All Associate Survey this year. I think the company is preparing for something big.
Re: the post from the People Leader, seems all employees s/b in scope. Some of my coworkers received this task and others haven’t. Some are hourly workers and others are not. Seems more likely it’s a precursor to identifying more folks to layoff.
People leader here, so hope this helps a bit in this unsettling environment.
The Annual Talent Review is in process. It is not new. It is for long-term succession planning. Associates who are in scope have to complete/update their Workday career profile.
What is new is that:
- it is being managed in Workday via task assignment (was previously done manually offline, via emails, PPT templates, etc.)
- it has been extended to Director and Director Equivalent associates
So, if you are not at least a Director or DE, you are excluded from the exercise.
Hope this helps ease minds, at least for this.
The inconsistency of requests, rules and guidance for the employees is another indication among many of how poorly this company and its employees are being managed.
After I completed the steps it brought me to a page for Journeys. But had no assigned Journey. Anyone know what they are? Our management has not communicated anything with us.
Check workday and see if you have an assignment about a "journey."
Some have been ask to and others have not. I am not sure what this means specifically...if anything! Anyone in the know...know?
Yes
