this board’s been pretty quiet lately so I’m gonna put this out there. Anyone hear of any big announcements coming at the Townhall? I’m hearing a four-day work week. Anyone? anyone? Let’s get the gossip mills churning again. I live for this.

Agree with commenter below. I feel like it was alluded that another external “partnership” is looming. Resulting in layoff’s and selling off workforce again.
This company is effectively being sold off for parts. It will be evaluated by an insurance governing agency and if it is determined that there are not adequate assets in the general account to meet the projected lifetime income payouts, the company could be sold to meet the debt obligation to lifetime income participants.
Just note your retirement plans or even deferred accounts for compensation payouts with three year rolling delayed payouts. I believe those are considered company assets if they are deemed incapable of meeting the debt obligation guaranteed by the annuity.
It’s time to make note of all available and closest exits, plan out your exit strategy and protect your personal assets you have with the company.
@2rdh+1urB9AFj Not so amazing. TIAA is not a publicly traded company, so no accountability to shareholders. In-fact I still have a hard time figuring out it's corporate structure. Bottom line, who exactly are they accountable too? The current moves, Accenture, closing Denver, moving to Texas seems like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. The executive management will extract as much as can for as long as they can and then what's left, will be sold off. Yeah I'm cynical but to me it seems like we have a lot in common with Boeing.
When absent-T says "north star", she meant losses north of $477M+ , but hey look at the new Frisco building next to the Star business center.
slow clap...
It’s amazing how they lost $477 million in the latest quarter and they don’t have to answer questions about it from ANYONE. No Wall Street analysts. No Credit agency analysts. No executive should oversee a $477 million dollar loss for ONE QUARTER and not have to answer any direct questions about it.
Seems I didn’t miss much by skipping today. I guess I’m glad I spent my time working versus being a mindless puppet in attendance or on zoom? Still a puppet but at least I was productive versus if I was yawning in front of the senior leaders pomp and circumstance of excitement for outsourcing and closing offices.
Biggest circlej--kever. Only person that had anything interesting so far was the CFO, and that wasn't great news in terms of "expense mgmt" i.e. layoffs....
20 minutes in and this is the most worthless town hall I have ever sat through.
Her glasses look like they weigh 25 pounds. And those poor souls clapping for her look like they are being held captive.
I really don’t care what she’s saying. It’s such bullcr-p.
I have it from a good source that the high ups aren’t even considering 4 days in the office. However, the focus is making sure people are at 3 day average. If you are 2.5 or below the rumor is a PIP or significantly reduced bonus.
This call is already the biggest steaming pile of circlej--kbullshit I’ve heard all year.
The loudest applause for her introduction was her own as she took the stage.
Ditto to not joining the meeting! Stopped going a long time ago no substance whatsoever.
I meant four days in the office.
@OP+1urB9AFj Do you mean a 4 day work week as in 4 10 hour days? Or 4 days in the office one day remote? I see the latter being more likely as the former was summertime only and was shut down decades ago here. Especially if they do more layoffs after Accenture and free up more room in Charlotte, it could easily go back to 5 days in office.
What is the over/under for T to actually acknowledge the Jacksonville and Denver office closures and not just recap on the “exciting/fantastic” news of Accenture from a couple weeks ago.
Now if she talks about, what about the odds of her being so excited they are closing so they can get “fresh young talent” (DFs words last month, not mine) in her home state and soon to be home again of Frisco.
I won’t even attend or join the zoom. The top of the house has no decency or compassion anymore. Always too happy and loud and careless. They don’t care, why should we…
