Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

Just to answer some questions.

Many were laid off August 1st had payouts until August 30th. The rolling/silent layoffs are still happening. Severance was offered but if you take the severance you cannot sue for discrimination or retaliation per the literature. You get subsidized COBRA premiums as well depending on the length of your time with the company.

I hope this helps those who had questions.

They are slowly ramping up resources from Cognizant in all the departments, but those resources are horribly d-mb. But, managers seems to not care about any feedback as long as they get their kick backs from these companies.

I've seen quite a bit of upper (Sr. VP level) "retiring," but then I saw on Linkedin that they are looking for other opportunities.

Are leaders included in these decisions? There are quite a few with leadership titles and no direct reports.

It’s possible…retain 60% of your senior staff, let go of the remaining 40% of senior staff, then replace them with cheaper temps that they don’t have to pay health benefits on, pay vacation time, or holidays. Sh*tty yes, but feasible from money grubbing boardrooms.

@4huf+1ungP1CG question is how much of that 40% has been let go already and how much is left as well

They can't possibly be using a 60-40% model. We are short staffed as it is and cutting 40% of staff that actually do the work would destroy what productivity remains. Then again, leadership is d-mb.

Inside scoop they are using 60% 40% model. Retain 60% sr skilled employees and let go the remainder.

I don’t know how they can do a hybrid model when some of us live over 90 miles from an office…I guess if they want that they’ll just get rid of some of us…

There’s a “culture shift” happening. Usually when they start talking that way you see certain leaders get run off, then smaller waves of layoffs, and reorgs.

I’m speculating, but I would not be surprised to see a return to work (at least hybrid) mandate coming.
