Home And Community (navihealth) down the dumps

So for the SICCs and CMCCs, what do you think of the email that just came out today?

The predict is the bane of our existence. It is deceitful, it’s confusing, it is a big insult to our clinical judgment. It should be abolished all together!

The CTM, it seems, were just given something to do so corporate will have less reasons to ax them. This whole enterprise is a dumpster fire!

The focused audits still affect performance metrics. And those metrics affect annual reviews, appraisals and bonuses. Which can affect the livelihood of employees. So yes, they are punitive. Who are we kidding here?

Oh and I forgot to mention, aside from those focused audits, let’s not forget about the QAR audits. Why can’t the “leaders” just do our whole review then? If we are being nitpicked for every move that we do and every decision that we make?

You know what will save the company and Medicare money? Just hire non-clinicians to do data entry, train them to do the Predict which is easy for a layman to learn and just have them submit the case to a Medical Director 2 days prior the predicted DC date. Because at this point, the clinical judgment of the care coordinators no longer matter.

The reason for the focused audits is not punitive. It's to try to eliminate wasteful days.. for example, issuing a 3 day notice instead of 2 if not clinically indicated. Or extending an authorization on someone a week and 1/2 that probably doesn't need but a few more days.. don't get me wrong, I wish the predict was gone, but apprving days that aren't skilled is costly to the Medicare system.

My colleague from the West market told me that they received an email from leadership saying that the CTM will audit more of the care coordinator’s reviews to make sure that they don’t go over the ELOS despite the fact that we have been told that the Predict is just a guide and should not be the end-all be-all of our clinical decision making when extending stays or sending to MDR.

In the event that the CTM notices a “non-compliance” with the predicted DC, he/she will have to do a second level review of your whole caseload until you get “straightened out.”.

As for me, I will be submitting my resignation letter this week as I can no longer stomach doing what I do to patients. The Nh Predict is the worst thing that has happened to UHG and Humana MA patients.

Those worthless home health ctms will get cut eventually. Getting their money's worth outta the lazy prejudice ,actually stupid ,cause they write up or wrote up so many folks abusing their power. And it's all documented and ready for ctm dismissal In time.
