I stopped giving a damn years back and grinding non-stop. These days, no one really cares how hard you're busting your a-s - it doesn't help you at all. Just play along with the latest programs and you'll be fine. Do your job decently without burning out, and leave all that cr-p behind when you're done each day. They’re not looking for thinkers anymore, just people to follow along.

Doesn’t really matter to the as***les that have destroyed the technical ladder in the company is and will continue to increase their bonuses and all the middle managers with no technical and people skills will continue to cook up criticism and psychological torture on people who do the work knowing deep inside them that it is immoral and pretending that they are just a messenger of a bad system.

And all projects end up in failure anyway so why give a damn? Management's destroyed all technical people and their motivation to win. There're very very few highly skilled technical employees left that know what they're doing really well. But all of them are looking for other jobs or trying to make it to retirement. The companies that hire these few jewels still left at ExxonMobil will win big.
This new culture, this new management style, and Darren have totally ki-led the technical ladder at ExxonMobil. There's no engineering left here.
