Thread regarding Cigna layoffs

It was about time to abandon Cigna

With all layoffs and increased offshoring, I decided not to stick around anymore. Looked for another job for a couple of months, and found a decent replacement. I’m supposed to start in two weeks. Guys, leave this place. There’s no future in Cigna. When looking for another job, think outside of the box. There are many other industries where your skills are applicable, and you’ll have a greater chance at finding something better. Good luck!

Congratulations on the new job! It’s always inspiring when I hear stories of other Cigna victims who found an opportunity to escape.

The job market is rough right now. Between the ghosting and rejections, it makes it really hard to stay positive. Everyday spent working for Evernorth is a hellish experience that I wouldn’t even wish on my worst enemy. The course of my employment with EBH/Cigna has been a very dark period of my life and I regret even accepting this job offer to begin with. It’s almost funny how those of us working in behavioral health have such poor mental health on account of our job. It’s not natural for a human being to be “on” all the time like one needs to be when doing call center work. The burnout and misery I experience M-F is unreal. The stress of my job has negatively impacted all of my relationships outside of work in so many ways.

I’m rooting for all of us who are feeling trapped and hopeless. May we all find a better position with a company that will treat us like humans, unlike Cigna.

I worked for Cigna for years before I chose to leave rather than go back to the office. It is not the same company I once worked for, and I’ve never regretted leaving. Congratulations on your new job, and kudos for recognizing Cigna for the trash pit it’s become.

I guess Cigna has peaked. It will soon be like Payless, Sears, Kmart, JC Penny, Radio Shack, and other failing business we have seen.

Cigna has abandoned their employees. There is no future in Cigna except for continued decline, layoffs, disorganization, and turnover.

Congratulations, it’s a rough market so that’s the main reason why people are waiting it out. But I inherently know I am digging my own grave by staying longer. I am not training those HIH folks so I can get replaced. But I know I can only stall for a few weeks and then it is game over.
