Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Final ERP and VSP numbers

I heard from a reliable source that it is under 5000 people. This means 10000 more people will have to leave via ISP.

Does anybody have additional info on this?

@ycp. Think the phrase you’re looking for is “ good riddance”. It’s always key to spell correctly when trying to insult someone. Otherwise you might look stupid.

15% can run up to 19000. With Intel pop being around 126 when announced

@ycp+1ukBdRsL, there is nobody to blame except yourself to stay and milk the system as long as you have.

Yes "good riddens" meaning it's been a good ride for all that have been dependent on the tribal knowledge and experience that has been keeping Intel afloat during the last decade+.

It would be unfair for me to generalize and say that all new employees, millennial, gen z, or others are incompetent, as there are many great employees that don't deserve to go down with the ship.

The same can be said for many of the ER eligible employees (some of which aren't "boomers" that have given ~30 years of hard work, only to see their retirement and other benefits be reduced.

For those that did little to contribute and were only a drain on money and resources, good riddance indeed.

For those that were capable and hard working, the best of luck in finding a new job in which your talents are appreciated, or in retiring from the workforce altogether.

Just remember 15k is just round 1. Intel needs to right size to 60k without mobile and IoT products. 60K is about right for datacenter and some desktop market share. The X86 party is over.

I've also heard all the boomers took the parachute.
Good riddens...

I’ve heard from an unreliable source that ER will more or less hit Pats target , a small ISP will mop up the low hanging fruit and all VSP will be blocked - makes nothing but sense to me

intel has added 25,000 people in the last 10 years.
The layoff will barely remove that many.
They need to stop hiring when the stock people aren't looking.
