I’m new to Cigna, and I don’t know yet how things are done here. I’m just hearing all the time about September layoffs, yet nobody can say anything for certain. Anyone have any information? I heard that some people were laid off on Friday. I don’t know if it’s true or not. Surely we would know if mass layoffs started already?

Since you're new, you probably haven't perused old threads regarding mass layoffs. They started last year. It seems the biggest one was in October 2023. We've surmised that Cigna has kept most layoffs under the radar by laying off just under the minimum number of people in different parts of the organization to avoid enacting WARN. It's this site and brave and virtuous coworkers and leaders that have helped keep us out of the dark. Not sure if they're still around, but good for them if they have landed better and more stable jobs! Cigna is not what it used to be. Good luck to everyone this week!
@2wrs+1ujSojaR They will probably be replacing your team with one at HIH. I am being forced to layoff contractors and replace with HIH even though I don’t want to and it is going to hurt my team. I’d dust off your resume and get a jump on things. Good luck!
There's an all team meeting in my department scheduled for the 12th
Not feeling great
Layoffs have already started. As someone in Program Management, I’ve already been alerted Sept 12 my role is eliminated. Some folks on my team were able to find alternative roles within, but I have not been so lucky.
Good try, Mrs. HR.
