Run for your lives. This isn’t a shadow of a company I once worked for. I am, personally, just trying to bridge over, if possible, to retirement. The rest of you, just go look for good jobs and career options. This isn’t either. Work on your skills, do as best as you can to be able to shift between industries and workplaces. Make yourself as independent as possible of one company and one type of job. Good luck to all of us. I don’t regret my time here and meeting many great colleagues and friends over the years. But I do feel sad over the company I once cherished becoming an empty husk.

I remember when I used to be proud to say that any donation I made to my alma mater was matched by TIAA. I was lucky enough to afford going there thanks to my sacrificing parents. It made me more than happy to help others who weren't as fortunate as myself. The amount of money going to our executives and their obnoxious pet projects makes me absolutely sick. What happened to our mission of serving others instead of our narcissistic "leadership"???
I've never been lucky enough to be a veteran for even 10 years at any company. Corporate America has been more than willing to chew up and sp-t out any number of workers for decades. I thought I had finally found the best possible employer in TIAA, until T destroyed any shred of goodness and goodwill here. Be thankful for your long tenure, it is definitely not the normal experience for most people.
There is an early retirement package, it's called a layoff or elimination of your position.
Couldn’t agree with you more. The TIAA veterans do not recognize this org anymore. You would think there would be an early retirement package just to get us out.
