CHIPS Act did not specify anything about employment - although it does require on-site daycare.

Go figure.

It’s because of the CHIPS act. One of the stipulations is no layoffs. Or no money from the government.

Foundry is the future of Intel?? Intel can't even make their OWN products. TSMC makes ALL of Intel's most advanced chips for them because they lack the manufacturing prowess to do so themselves. Pretty hard sell, imho

Only NM is spared from layoffs as their packaging is in demand.

Foundry is getting layoffs. I don’t know why people keep saying otherwise.

Because intel products are sh-t. X86 is dead, lack of innovation in product development for 20 years, thats why.
The foundry is the only chance. Luckily the machines in the foundry not made by failing intel. intel just owns the fab, all the tools made by other vendors, they just need customers. so theres a good chance to succeed.
