Thread regarding TIAA (TIAA-CREF) layoffs

Just heard pretty director from a few higher ups in Denver that they’ve about the closing and Accenture piece for ~18-months or so. 😵‍💫

Agreed mostly that of course they’ve know for quite some time but only parts. Like the Accenture piece. Why remodel the Denver office when we don’t own it ~2ish years ago then? Would be super easy to keep the few floors we have no in 1-elevator bank and keep key talent there with a much smaller footprint and make the majority of new hires in Frisco if that’s what they want to do - especially since TX gave us $18M in incentives to move there so we have to fill it.

But to remodel so recently an office only to close it just shows that even if it was planned broad strokes for quite some time - it was still bungled in so many ways.

Yeah they started looking at vendors back in 2021 for outsourcing. Not sure exactly when Accenture was selected but there were a lot of vendors being evaluated for this. Interesting that we went to the one SD is from.

Of course they have. Frisco has been know as a possible location to close Denver for years. Honest question, did you actually think these things were figured out while they were bored over the weekend?

This is a huge transition and huge cost. They have to plan and get ready for something this major.
