Script reading is exactly the same as yesterdays session. But this time we can see Les’s script printed out.
Hey low cost peers , tell us if FLT improved their script reading skills .
Job market in houston is not good. Expect 6 to 9 months without a job. Hopefully not more
APAC will be somewhat similar. But what do those have to be concerned about … those centers are growing and will grow
How is the job market in Houston?
APAC call is tonight
Did anyone listen to the APAC call? Did they run the same script or at least change it a little.
Thanks guys for saving me an hour. I won't bother dialing into the Asia Pacific timezone session.
if a CIO can't read and demonstrate he has internalized this effort. He is only going to execute this with zero empathy. It will be numbers game and an HR action from here on. Your performance, PMP or ability to hit goals isn't going to save you. Past performance has no bearing on future directions.
There will be a lot of coasters from now on, as nobody can predict any parameters that will save them from being let go. Some will play the brown-nose game, other will leave; only the blind and deaf will continue to think PMP will save them

Fail to clock in 2x a week you will be chopped. Your performance, PMP or ability to hit goals isn't going to save you. Past performance has no bearing on future directions.

What they didn’t answer gives an answer.
Here is your way forward:
If you are less than 40, you can wait and move.
If you are over 40 and less than 55, you should look for job right now. Whatever little opportunities out there, grab before it’s gone or oil price crashes. Act like your life depended on it.
Greater than 55, keep milking the cow.
That was an embarrassing performance from these ‘leaders’. They weren’t even on the spot. They had pre submitted questions and pre prepared answers that were pretty much lifted from the FAQ. Robotic, non human delivery.
Zero answers were said, but just about every corporate jargon word was…
India is cheapER than the US, but they are by no means “cheap” if there actually trying to hire and keep the type of talent they think they will get.
Every reputable Silicon Valley tech company is already out in India, and the prices they pay for a good quality, experienced software or data engineer is on par with a new US employee. India is not where companies go for cheap talent anymore. Look at our contractors - S3, Accenture, Deloitte, many others - we’ve been using contractors from Eastern Europe, Latin America, and Southeast Asia who perform much better than the low quality leftover talent that is in India after the tech companies already hired them or they’ve moved elsewhere.
I’m sorry but Manila and Buenos Aires work on more than corporate function projects. The GMs should know this. Putting them in a box to only do corporate functions while moving upstream and downstream work to India makes no sense when they’re already supporting all the platforms today. 1 step forward, 2 steps back.
Imagine a world where at one time these IT GMs were. considered HighPots.....
Chevron has bottom barrel IT leadership, we just need the LCG to match.
I hope all these GMs get fired first.
THAT was truly a waste of 44 mins.
They were SO SCRIPTED that it was all done with a min to spare.
Let's get this f*** faces replaced by overseas workers as well
India looks “rich in talent” because they lie on their CV and misrepresent their skills.
At my last company we’d have to interview 20 candidates to find one that could answer simple questions they should have aced based on their supposed job history.
WTF is a “workflow??”
Ideating
A.I. is bunk….just like crypto.
They are not “rich” in their talent pool in comparison to the US they are just cheap
Looks like AG has not changed her script from post transformation. Same old jargon... Back then it was about Chapter and now about Engine.
Because he probably didn’t do so much globe trotting in his previous role in first class.
Is Les sitting in a rocking chair? Also, Someone get him some tablets for his indigestion…
Whoever lands roles in new world will be so miserable bc they won’t have work life balance and will be purely coordinating calls late and early morning calls.
Why this guy keep mentioning his travel itinerary in every sentence?
“Embrace the change” of your job going overseas.
And if by luck your job isn’t overseas, embrace working terrible hours to handhold the new low quality employees
F you, Les.
The fact that they won’t answer the question about layoffs in the US is all the answer you need.
There will be, they know it, but they’re not ready to say it out loud yet/don’t want people to start leaving sooner than they’re ready.
Lucas is pretending not to read from script but it’s a script people…
They want to drive innovation… so they’re going to open a low cost employee office in a country with a workforce known for taking orders and working hard but NOT innovating on their own.
S T O O P I D
Bullsh-t goal is to shrink the US high cost employees and grow low cost in India, Manila and BA. These guys will learn hard way it’s difficult to retain talent in those location
How do we submit feedback on this town hall...
OMG.... just answer the question...
Will there be layoffs in USA?
Me thinks they are reading a script. No life at all.
Rice Business answer right there. Like wtf. Just answer the question
Jesus, they’re literally using lots of corporate buzzwords without saying anything. All are reading off their screens.
heard multiple times "over the next several quarters... and will keep us informed along the way..."
