Infosys eyes acquisitions; CEO Salil Parekh says ’no layoffs due to AI focus’

Infosys Ltd. is likely to acquire more companies operating in data analytics and SaaS, as generative artificial intelligence (AI) is fueling clients' strong interest, reported PTI quoting CEO Salil Parekh on August 25. Layoff is not foreseen despite the AI rise, said the executive.

Companies like Infosys are trend chasers, not setters. If AI turns out to be a giant hype bubble, they're gonna fall...hard.

Ironically, in the case where GenAI gets really good, GenAI itself would be more of a threat to Infosys.
