Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Banking is no longer a viable career option

I worked in several banks, and I’ve witnessed a speedy degeneration of the industry spiced with cultural specifics of different banks. After 20 years in banking I am working hard on finding another job in an entirely different industry. Advice for younger people considering taking a job here or in any other bank - banking is over, you would do better in any other field.

No reason for a branch. You can get a mortgage or car loan from your phone or PC. Cash from and deposit from an ATM. Anyone getting investment advice from a bank needs to wise up.

I agree that classic banking is over. Branches are mostly obsolete as Technology frightened boomers pass.

Don’t tell that to our senior executives or anyone with an “E” in their title.
