I would spend little of my time in my corner office that I don't like and walk the floors of the buildings of f5 seeking out those who wish to share their ideas successes and failures and listen.

I'd work to reestablish the healthy engineering, support and sales culture that existed prior to FLD showing up. Focus on customers, product and people with less aggressive investments in acquisitions and progressive politics.

F5 is run by someone who knows the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

  • Will fire all lazy, senior managements (most of them) down to level managers (except few).
  • Outsource all of the fired managements to HYD and BLore .. ha ha.
  • Reevaluate management staff, Architects based on what they have done so far. I am sure many of them will go.
  • Make sure no "yes boss" culture, no grouping based on which part of the world you are form.
  • Rewards engineers who really contributed to the company.

Except for the post about trust, the rest of the posts are disappointing.

Absolutely nothing. After a year I’m ready to retire in Thailand or somewhere in South America.

I’m making $13M? Any performance goals I have to meet to make that? No? Then the answer is easy, nothing. Go through the motions and make it look like I care.

First and foremost I would establish real trust in the company. People shouldn’t afraid to report real problem and upper management should take care of them.
