What happened to many middle to senior level managers? Instead of deeply understanding the business to drive improvements, they are focusing on chairing forums and delivering keynote speeches while our performance suffers. Rather than rehearsing speeches, they should prioritize truly understanding their roles and challenging the status quo.

And yet, their jobs don’t get cut…
They panic and worry people will see the obvious: that their role is not essential. Naturally the circle their wagon with anyone who will publicly agree with them and ignore the duplication of effort, futile meetings, promotion of non doers etc.
