While not layoff related, a rare appearance by our esteemed leader discussing the hurricanes and varied impacts. Quite a bit about digitization, price to risk, roof rating, and other variables that impact our decision to write business and/or how much to charge. Quite a good showing---we seem to be in "good hands"...or are we?

Tom Wilson wouldn't know a roof rating if it slapped his toupee off his head.
Seemed to me like he was trying to get ahead of a bad news quarter - downplaying Florida exposure (huge auto exposure and still a top 10 HO carrier I believe) and acting like they’re doing something others don’t do already (Allstate doesn’t own the aerial imagery - that’s a vendor provided picture and several different vendors have significantly more sophisticated uses than Allstate does).
The hosts did find the aerial imagery interesting but so would most people that haven’t been in the insurance industry. No real substance for people that do understand the business.
