Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

What is going on in Enterprise Infrastructure (part of TOS)?

Ajit Zadgaonkar’s departure was announced today and it seems like he was let go. There is also a ‘mandatory organizational update’ for Enterprise Services on Tuesday morning, the 15th. This smells like layoffs.. anyone have more insight?

All managers of managers need to be axed. They are useless and ridiculous.

It's a cluster F of unqualified managers. We have managers to manage managers times 3 without a single engineer in that chain. Thing move insanely slow, work unknowingly overlaps, and it's a disaster. I may get downvoted here, but there are too many managers and the fluff needs to be cut. We have at least 3 teams I know of working on basically the same thing under completely different management lines (even outside of pete, and 1 of those teams being under pete) and it's just a total mess. Kudos to pete to be honest for starting to see the fluff. I hate to say it, but if I'm cut, I get it. It's not our faults the bank hired out in a way that made 0 sense.

"It would be nice to have Jeff VG back. Dilip is a walking cluster F. Just goes to show McKinsey is like a professor in college. Never had a real job at a real company , just pontificated on pilfered ideas and books and can’t execute worth a darn."

@1mlt+1uV1M9dr funny you should say that as McKinsey was indeed started by a Professor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_O._McKinsey

I see a trainwreck in progress. Leadership was sold a bill of goods on cloud, turns out things aren't quite as advertised, and all of it is being paid for via these cuts. Also, AI is the next cloud.

Ian did get a better opportunity and seems to have left on his own terms. Rest of them ... not so much.

Maybe it's voluntary. Think about it....senior leadership doesn't understand the complexities of technology....then on top of that they oversimplify how quickly things can be converted.

Makes for a terrible work environment and maybe they got better opportunities elsewhere.

I think that mandatory meeting on Tuesday will be interesting since Pete hasn’t been able to actually schedule a meeting with the organization and has had no communication to the team. Short timer he is there to cut 60% of the workforce.

These are people who were hired (with high TC) to do a job and they failed to deliver so they're gone. Don't read too much in to it.

These are involuntary to save Dilip …for not going to the cloud.

How did you hear he’s gone? Yeah Pete is so underwater and unprepared for the job he relies on id--ts for information. What a mess

"Vijay, Madhu, and Ajit"

Couldn't help but notice a pattern here lol.

Can't believe Ajit lasted as long as he did.

So that makes Vijay, Madhu, and Ajit gone. Lots of middle managers are leaving and it seems it is involuntary separation. Is it the calm before the storm of layoffs?
