I'm a senior manager with FTE and contractors on my team. I'm not included in any staffing or financial discussions ever, and my question is, when would my director plus level management inform me if someone on my team were to be let go? I guess if it were to be me, I'll find out when I get the HR meeting invite, but if it's a team member, would I have been told by now? I'm hoping that by now, no news is good news as it pertains to my team members? Thanks for any insight you can share.

@fhg+1uUjFicQ Thanks for providing some insight to this. Correct, I am a hiring manager for my team, but beyond that, I'm not informed at all about coming cuts or general team strategy. And correct, my directors are never transparent about this stuff, been like this for years. And yeah it su-ks a lot.
When my team was hit with layoffs last October, our manager didn’t know until that morning. So chances are if anyone on your team is JE’d you won’t know until tomorrow or day of. But it is kind of weird that you’re a senior manager who isn’t the hiring manager for your team. Unless you meant you’re not told of cuts or overall strategy. In which case your director su-ks for not being transparent. Secrecy is the hallmark of a toxic work environment.
