Thread regarding Alteryx layoffs

Rumors of layoffs

I've been hearing that there might be more layoffs happening at Alteryx sometime this month. The source isn't the most reliable, so I'm not sure how accurate it is. Does anyone here know if this is true or not? Has there been an announcement that I might have missed?

Managers are being asked to stackrank.

Yes. For those who do not know...

Stack ranking is a controversial employee performance review method where employees are ranked against each other from best to worst. Managers are being asked to do this.
Stack ranking is a performance appraisal method where employees are ranked against each other, typically from top to bottom, within a group or department. Managers are being asked to "stackrank" employees means they are being requested to order their team members based on their perceived performance.

This method can be controversial because it often leads to a forced distribution of ratings, meaning a certain percentage of employees must be rated as "top performers," "average performers," and "low performers," even if the actual performance levels are more evenly distributed. This can sometimes create a competitive and potentially toxic work environment.

Good luck. Some managers/directors are already doing this. Sc-ms. Record every single video you have with your manager. Protect yourself.

Very limited, silent layoffs are happening this week across the company.

Which other areas? Someone from product marketing was suddenly let go last week.

Very limited, silent layoffs are happening this week across the company. Mostly functions that are being considered non-essential or are deemed no longer needed per the direction of the company. No real reflection on the performance or usefulness of the people involved.

Trust what was said. There is enough normal attrit and we just made the big cut in June. Most are fine at least until we get merged into another company in Q1 so just do your work and be valuable and the odds are in your favour to make the cut over to the new co.

I don't trust management anymore. I don't know if there will be another layoff, but it's clear anything can happen. They can merge alteryx in another company or sell it. In any case, I don't see what's in it for the staff. If you need the job and can't find another one, keep it, but don't expect much.

Amir announced on the recent all hands “No RIFs planned. Period.” I don’t know how much more clear he can make it.
