Why is everybody so certain more layoffs are coming? Do some of you just enjoy scaring people who are already stressed out for no good reason? If I missed something from the management, I apologize, but from where I'm standing, every mention of layoffs is just speculation with no basis in facts.

If management is relying so heavily on AI, why are they only "raffling off" licenses to "random" associates? Cheap A$$e$ want AI to magically take over without actually having to pay for it. This has been their go-to business model for years. Pay for nothing and innovation will magically materialize.
Mgmt hopes AI will reduce the need for live bodies and that quits and retires will handle that.
I have heard of some belt tightening, but nothing about layoffs.
Until at least the end of the year, I don't think there will be any.
My group has done layoffs multiple times each year in the past ten years. Other business units we interact with have had entire teams suddenly disappear.
They have done layoffs every year, sometimes multiple times a year for at least the last 10 years.
If you don't believe layoffs are imminent, what are you doing reading a layoff board?
