I've heard it mentioned a few times, but can we be certain this is true?

Elevance Health is a company that truly does not care.
I was laid off. I took FMLA and was to return back in mid August. First week in August got a text message from my manager asking if I can make myself available the next day.
Logged into the teams meeting and already knew what was coming since it was my manager and HR.
They made my last day first week of September 2024 so that they can essentially say I returned from leave and was let go upon my return.
This was the Behavioral Health commercial line of business under Caralon.
No severance package.
You can apply for for an optional severage package if and only you remained unemployed for 6 weeks post your last day and sign legal paperwork waiving your rights. So even if you got another position elsewhere, too bad you loose on the severance or you push back your start date. This is the most selfish company.
Here are the months that RIFs occur:
January
February
March
April
May
June
July
August
September
October
November
December
Larger RIFs happen when the "last day" would fall just before a quarter closes, e.g. Aug RIFs were an attempt to boost Q3 numbers. January RIFs are an attempt to boost Q1.
It's every month.
I wouldn't bank on it. This company does not care if they Rif people in November or December.... as a little gift for the Holidays. As its a heartless and soulless corporation who is on a set on a monthly schedule to reduce the staff, they will plow forward with the plan.... as we are all just a number.... a dollar sign to be eliminated.
If you are over 50, and have 20 years of service..... you are a target, a big target.

Just in time for the holidays. How thoughtful of them.
layoffs coming in 3 weeks
What is ELV 30, please?
CM/DM is shifting to Carelon on 1/1/25, as part of Elevance 30.
: @1cqv+1uRSwd7W Yes
@1kww...Do you mean auto adjudication?
Auto-attestation of what, please? I am not familiar with the “auto” attestation term.
ELV 30 initiative is moving most of UM/CM to Carelon this month. This will include >4,500 associates. Carelon’s UM strategy is predominantly auto-attestation - so most of these associates will be layed off in months to come as more auto-attestation rules are created and residual work is off-shored.
@1xn...Is case Management the nurses who do the preauthorizations for our members and the concurrent reviews?
So sad case management is going to Carelon global solutions Philippines! What a shame!!
@1ton+1uRSwd7W yes. It's odd. Maybe all the Carelon departments moves being delayed have moved back the layoff date and for once this site is wrong.

I have seen multiple times on this site the date of 10/17 for potential layoffs...yet the all associates Town Hall with Gail is scheduled for that day. That seems "interesting " to me that you would have a big all associates town hall and a layoff on the same day. Does that seem odd to anyone else?
I know that generally these posts are pretty accurate but this one is curious to me.
More coming October 17th. Some moves over to Carelon got delayed until January so some people will be saved for a few months. There are also people who were moved to Carelon and are working in the US. Some departments will be operated that way for a little while. But the plan seems to be to slowly replace everyone.
There is one coming a week from Thursday.
More departments are going offshore to carelon global solutions ( philippines )
100% false.
