Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Ford has a bigger salaried union than you think.

Ford is protecting all the WFH salaried people scamming the company just like the UAW does for "many" of their pathetic members. The final result will be the end of FOMOCO.

@3vji+1uQdeQEe. The problem with your post is that product development's output, including Model E, in the last 4 years of WFH has been in serious decline. Now, I won't put it all on WFH, obviously the BF, JF, and DF clownshow is a major factor, but lack of collaboration is a big reason that clownshow continues.

If you have any bright ideas how to collaborate in-person when all day long you have to stay in call with people around the world, I am all ears.

The so called 'in office collaboration' is just management propaganda. They are just 1940s troglidites that use their laptops as coffee coasters. All that will be accomplished with sitting in an office was just like before Covid. Some people sitting on webex all day trying to get work done while the office backstabbing sycophants wander around the office looking to take credit for others work.

Everyone at Ford should be in the office five days a week. Hopefully management will realize this soon and force people to come back.

Collaboration was not a problem during the early days of wfh. But as new projects started and teams were shuffled, new relationships needed to be formed and it just happens better and faster when people are colocated. Trust me, it is cheaper to have people wfh, from reduced office space overhead to the fact people are willing to work at a lower wage when permitted wfh.

not sure why software engineers has to be in office, but agree on the collaboration, but that was never a problem during wfh

Stop with the broad brush. Model e does not fall under your description. DF has been clear about the urgency of collaboration in person and in the office. Doing this will promote success of the company and stakeholders.

Ford Blue and Ford Pro are not under the same leadership and thus fall more into your negative description.
