It would be nice if people stayed with facts instead of making assumptions and pushing it as true. Currently all that is known is they are asking for volunteers to retire early. What is being said by the company it is due to a new contract they were trying to win but did not. I don’t know how many were actually hired with the anticipation that they would actually get the contract.
Could a layoff happen? Maybe if they don’t get the number they need. But right now there is no news of a layoff. There is no WARN notice. We just have to wait and see.

Yes it is true the Greenville local union posted packages for hourly
Rumor is 1 week of pay for every 2 years of service
So if you worked there for 40 years you only get 20 week for severance pay
That is a cr pppy offer
The old CEO received 2.5 million for 4 years of service
The union would have been notified 30 days prior. That means they knew in mid September if the October 17th date is true. In Clifton, a combination of bargaining unit employees and middle management will probably be let go.
