Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

Can leadership track employee surveys to you?

They want honest feedback, and it needs to be given, but then are mad when someone gives a low score and their bonuses are dinged. And I don’t want mine dinged, either. How much can your leader trace your survey to you?

You are constantly being monitored by the company . Nothing is anonymous in the world today.

They pinpoint it to the person filling out the survey.

I don’t think it anonymous I am sure they can track who the survey belongs to since they send individual links. Last time I didn’t say anything but marked several low and neutral and they knew it was me. Now I am treated differently. We keep getting reminded that neutral answers are negative so i gave them all perfect scores. Eff them all I just put my head down and work as best as I can and document differrnced and irregularities.

Leadership knows who responses are and negative feedback impacts bonuses as our manager advised us. So the survey is a joke.

Be honest on the survey. Nothing will change if honest feedback is not given. I'm in a position for many, many years where I've had employees who take this survey. NO! We do not know who provided what feedback unless that employee puts something in the comments that reveal their identity. They are anonymous, regardless of what others are saying above. Remember, if you want change, you have to be the change.

They want us to excel which, in my position and the others I work with did; we developed the program from start. In my review we all got a 3/5 aka Meeting Expectations. We all worked our as--s off and was told by management that they told [her] that anything above a 3 is to be held. So guess what, it’s review time and I am basically telling them, “yall barely met expectations” try harder. So irritating.

It’s anonymous, but they can usually figure out which person wrote it.

First, no manager or director has access or time to track your IP address. 😆 However, if they have more than 10 Direct’s, they can see written responses. Having said that, if you put something you are always complaining about, they can come to the conclusion who wrote the response. Will they know for sure, no but usually a good idea. The # you select, they have no idea who selected what but again they’ll have a good idea based on your responses over the years.

I gave critical feedback on this last year as it was my first one.
I’ve been treated poorly by my manager all year, so this year I told them what they wanted to hear.
Specific non actionable positive feedback

Email the survey to your anonymous personal email address, and then open the survey link from that email while connecting to a private VPN. In such way, no one can track your survey results except for gov agencies.

My manager didn’t do well last time (I didn’t take the survey, never do). She then sent her own survey to the six of us on her team “to get a better understanding”. Umm…how anonymous is that??

Avoid the survey at all costs!

Anything electronic leaves a trail regardless of the vendor. However I doubt they give 2 cents what somebody at the bottom of the pyramid thinks

The survey is done by an outside group to keep it anonymous so I think you are safe. but you have to think about how many people are on your team (Need at least 5 for aggregate summary of comments are shared with direct manager) and use caution on any written feedback that can identify you. I think it’s worth scoring how you feel, I wouldn’t give the leaders the benefit of false high scores out of fear!

The best way to get them in a corner is just don’t participate! Poor response to the survey is as telling as giving them low ratings! And if the participation is low they send out an email pleading you to complete the survey!

It’s not anonymous…besides the IP address you have to use SSO to get to the survey…so they have all your information!

Yes, of course. Like the other post stated, the IP address and senior leaders can and do.
Employee Surveys are a joke.

Yes they can see it. When you click the link to the survey, your IP address goes with it. Give high scores.
