It’s so sad to see what was once a fabulous organization to work for go down the toilet. As a former senior leader of the organization that self selected to remove myself from the questionable decisions and ethical concerns - I’m so sorry you are all experiencing this. I hope one day the sheep that are executing some of these directives wake up and realize the actions they are taking aren’t just “a part of doing business” - it’s the lives, hearts and souls of the those that once believed is USB.

Thank you Steve,
We appreciate your leadership and wish the failed Mckinsie consultant had not run you and other great leaders out of the building due to his insecurity. We need leaders like you and Richard D right about now...
When exactly was this ever a fabulous organization to work for? This has always been the Walmart of banks. The tech has always su-ked compared to peer banks and they used to try to fix the technical lapses with a spreadsheet. Remember the days when every project relied on an enormous shared spreadsheet that was full of bugs and could only be checked out by one person at a time? As soon as one project ended another one was rolled out in a never ending string of inefficient clerical/keypunch busywork that was piled on top of your regular job. Endless conference calls that were just dog and pony shows to give senior management an opportunity to flex on the underlings. This company has always practiced management by intimidation. One illiterate senior leader decides the "p" in "bancorp" is silent, and the rest of them just follow suit. Pay has always lagged the industry, and benefits were always worst in class. Remember when they only matched the 401k in company stock once a year, and the 401k choices were loaded up with First American Funds? The company used to crow about it's efficiency ratio more than any other bank - which just demonstrates the banks cheapskate nature. Remember when they made everyone "volunteer" to take furlough days to reduce salary expense back in '07? It's always been a cr-ppy place to work, it's just become worse over time.
Thank you, OP! Sometimes the only thing one can do is disassociate oneself from the bad apples and move on build good things elsewhere. Hope you're having that success!
Okay well, I’m almost in tears! Who is cutting onions 🥹
