Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Do more with less

Is this HON's new motto? I'm getting truly tired of always being expected to do more with less time, fewer resources, less pay. When will it be enough?

Nothing new here. That sad sack motto has been around HON since at least 2013. Like the song says, meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Just need to have one big product that fails to get to market.
Safean's CEO admitted that they no longer had enough knowledge to design an engine after the Silvercrest disaster. This is the scale of failure needed to force change.

It is sad how poorly Honeywell is managed now, far worse than ever before. Quality does not matter at all. Leadership appears to be clueless about any details of the various business. The only goal is to offshore as much work as possible regardless of skillsets of people doing the work. Blind leading the even more clueless “yes” people. So sad.

This is never going to change at HW, the only ones that are satisfied are the execs collecting their bonuses and cashing out stock options. After spending 13 yrs at HW and being out for over 4 yrs, I've started my own company and never been happier because I can run it the way it should be run and needless to say it's opposite to everything I was forced to do at HW as a band 4 director. My guidance to all on this site, don't be afraid of your next move after HW, take the plunge and you'll be better off for it. Having worked for 4 or 5 other companies, fortune 100 is synonymous with Exec leadership greed that does not value the hard work of their employees.

I was given 15 -20 year old technology and asked to make a new product from it.
Told there was not the time or budget to modernize the tech and even sourcing better componentry would also take too much time and resource. Absolute joke of a company!

That is standard. Finish everything on time. But you have travel freeze. You cannot order material. Hiring freeze blocks whole teams with missing functions, because somebody decided to fire key people to save money, but without any replacement. Several systems are not properly functional or contain outdated data.
Of course you have to use shared space in noisy office and waste time every day settig up an workspace. And sometimes add furlough or similar "bonus". Of course any raise well below inflation if any. And some stupid corporate goals as cherry on top.

Sooooooo, dock workers turn down a 50% raise over 6 years. What is the average pay raise at HW? They also turned down increased retirement and medical benefit increases. How is is the new fat and smoking tax?

Give more to do more. What a freaking joke of a company. Recycling tired old tropes. Bring back the suggestion box next? Product improvement teams? 6 Sigma..... tired old lines from a morally bankrupt company.
